About Me:

Right now I'm in an interesting period of transition - midlife, new job in a new field, and trying to balance the material with the spiritual; dreams with necessities, my needs with those of my loved ones.

I'm a family man - I have a wife and two children that mean the world to me.

I'm an aikidoist - I've been practicing the martial art of Aikido for the past five years and recently tested for my shodan exam (I think I passed but I'll find out in a few days).  Still a beginner, though…always a beginner.

I'm a musician - I've played the guitar for more than 20 years (although you wouldn't know it if you heard me <grin>), and played in various garage bands in my 20s.  About five years ago I rediscovered the ukulele and it became my main instrument .  Six months ago I picked up the bongo drums and haven't put them down since (my obsession with this humble but mighty instrument has resulted in www.bongofever.com - check it out!).  I even sing a little bit, although I keep that to myself.

My other interests fall into the all-purpose category of weird stuff -  metaphysics, paranormal, even cryptozoology and conspiracy theories.   I realize the dodginess of it all, but I can't help myself.  I believe that there is more to life than meets the eye.

I've recently discovered the writings of Ken Wilbur and I'm intrigued by Integral Life Practices and AQAL.  Is this what I've been searching for all my life?  We'll see.

Most importantly I've learned that goals don't matter for $@#! if you don't enjoy the path.
